This Saturday, June 11th, hundreds of people will participate in the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America’s “Take Steps Walk” on the Washington Monument Grounds. The purpose of the event is to raise money and awareness in hopes of finding cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Today Capital Digestive Care’s Amy Shah, MD discussed the symptoms of these diseases and spoke about the importance of medical treatment on NewsChannel 8’s “Let’s Talk Live.” Katie O’Brien, who is a patient living with Crohn’s, also talked about her personal experience with the disease.
