Biography

Dr. Zilla Hussain is a board-certified and fellowship-trained gastroenterologist. She describes her approach to patient care as rigorous, disciplined, vigilant, and compassionate.

Before joining Capital Digestive Care, Dr. Hussain worked at Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Towson. Prior to that, she served as an assistant professor of medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University and was a member of the medical staff at the Miriam Hospital, Rhode Island Hospital, and the Veterans Administration, all in Providence, RI. She is an author and contributor to leading peer-reviewed medical journals and textbooks, and she spent time teaching at a hospital in Rwanda and at Dartmouth University School of Medicine.

Dr. Hussain is a wife and a mother of two. She lives with her family in Maryland and enjoys creating art, cooking, baking, and adventuring with her family.
