Dr. Syed Ismail Thiwan is a board-certified, fellowship-trained gastroenterologist. Dr. Thiwan provides dedicated care with a personal touch, following up on his patients, encouraging second opinions, accommodating urgent needs, and treating every patient with compassion.
Dr. Thiwan completed his medical degree at Tirunelveli Medical College in India. He underwent residency training in the United States at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, followed by a fellowship in internal medicine at East Carolina University and an additional fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
When he is not at work, Dr. Thiwan likes to spend time with his wife and daughter and joins his family in volunteering for social justice causes. He is passionate about traveling the world to experience different cultures, cuisine, and all that nature has to offer.
