Dr. Wang was born in Bethlehem, PA, and grew up in 6 different states.
She received her undergraduate training at UNC-Chapel Hill and entered the Gillings School of Global Public Health where she studied Nutrition. She attended medical school at Wake Forest School of Medicine and completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia. She then completed her 3-year fellowship in Gastroenterology at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where she also served as Chief Fellow.
She has received several awards and achievements for her expertise. She loves teaching and is currently an Assistant Professor at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
Her husband, Wayne, is an orthopedic hand surgeon in Virginia Beach, and they have one daughter. She enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with her family.
