Sunamita A. da Silva is a physician assistant (PA) and registered dietitian nutritionist who is particularly focused on the brain-gut-microbiome axis and how it can be applied, along with nutrition and conventional medical therapies, to treat and manage malabsorptive, motility, and functional disorders. Sunamita believes that quality of life is just as important as longevity and that helping people manage their health allows them to enjoy precious time with their loved ones and live fulfilling lives.
In addition to completing George Washington University’s physician assistant program, Sunamita also worked as a clinical dietitian after completing a master’s in clinical nutrition, performing nutrition screenings, assessments, recommendations, and education for patients in acute care settings.
Outside the office, Sunamita values spending quality time with family and friends, exploring the outdoors through hiking, and enjoying all things gardening. She also loves to read and discover other cultures through their cuisines. She has recently taken up candle making and enjoys experimenting with new candle fragrances.
