Capital Digestive Care is pleased to announce the addition of Anisha Ninan, MSN, CRNP, FNP-BC to our Columbia and Laurel, MD offices.
Anisha’s decision to pursue a career in healthcare was profoundly influenced by her father’s battle with cancer. Witnessing his courageous fight ignited Anisha’s profound sense of empathy and a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Her mother, who is a nurse, also modeled the importance of caring for those in need. This innate sense of compassion, combined with the transformative experience of supporting her father through his illness, solidified Anisha’s path toward becoming a medical provider.
Today, Anisha is a board-certified nurse practitioner who provides general gastroenterology (GI) care. She takes a holistic approach to GI care and treats each patient as an individual. She views patient care as a calling that resonates with her core values: empathy, integrity, and dedication.
Anisha earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, then completed a registered nursing residency program at Houston Methodist Hospital. She earned her master’s in nursing with a family nurse practitioner specialization at Prairie View A&M University in Houston.
“Each patient encounter is an opportunity to not only provide medical expertise but also to connect on a human level, offering support and encouragement during challenging times,” she said.
Before joining Capital Digestive Care, Anisha was a nurse practitioner at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, part of the National Institutes of Health. She also spent four years as a nurse practitioner in the breast surgical oncology department at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Anisha has also published articles on parathyroidism in peer-reviewed journals. In addition to English, she speaks Hindi, Malayalam, and Tamil.
