The Capital Digestive Care Pathology Laboratory received accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) based on results of a recent on-site inspection as part of the CAP ‘s Accreditation Programs. The accreditation comes in addition to the facility ‘s Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) certification from the federal government.
Internationally recognized, the CAP program is based on rigorous accreditation standards and is the only one of its kind that utilizes teams of practicing laboratory professionals as inspectors. “As a quality-driven laboratory, we are proud to have the distinction of CAP accreditation ” says the facility ‘s medical director, Dr. Jeffrey Baybick.
